What's new in VibeX

The notable changes we've shipped, newest first.

July 12, 2026

Metered (cost-weighted) tokens

  • Plan allowances now count metered tokens: each token category counts in proportion to its real AI-provider cost — cached reads count less, output counts more. The exact weights are published in the docs and come from the same rate table the live meter uses.
  • For typical builds (mostly cached context) this means more effective headroom than raw counting; it also guarantees no usage pattern can cost more than a plan includes.

Token-based pricing + Pro Max

  • Pricing is now purely token-based: Free includes a 2M-token lifetime allowance, Pro 30M/month, and a new Pro Max plan with 60M/month.
  • The live meter shows the real token cost of every build — no credits.

Friendlier errors + build safety

  • When the AI provider is briefly unavailable, you now see a clear message and are not charged for the failed attempt.
  • Very large builds stop cleanly with a note to continue, instead of running away.

July 6, 2026

Security hardening

  • Added a build concurrency lock, redirect validation, path clamping, and a published security disclosure policy.

July 4, 2026

Custom domains

  • The platform moved to vibexhq.com, and published apps now live on vibex.build on an isolated origin.

July 3, 2026

Plans & billing (beta)

  • Introduced plans, quota enforcement, and a Stripe integration (checkout + customer portal). The integration runs in internal test mode; public checkout is intentionally disabled until launch billing opens — paid plans collect reservations in the meantime.

July 2, 2026

Sonnet 5 engine, publishing & live streaming

  • Moved the build engine to Claude Sonnet 5.
  • Added stable shareable URLs for published apps — each stays available while the app is published.
  • The build timeline now streams the model's output live, with project auto-naming and an animated starter canvas.

Builder polish + accurate meter

  • Fixed the app shell, added a full-bleed live preview, and made the token meter accurate to the cent.

June 27–28, 2026

Sign-in options + protection

  • Added Google and Apple sign-in alongside GitHub.
  • Added rate limiting, encrypted token storage, a Content-Security-Policy, and usage quotas.
